On Thursday, May 16, 2024, the Youth Recreation Activity Worker Program will celebrate the successful graduation of 12 inner-city youth and formally recognize them for their dedication to make positive changes in their lives and in the lives of others.
A joint venture of BGC Winnipeg and RRC Polytech, the Youth Recreation Activity Worker Program trains young adults facing barriers to obtaining their post-secondary education to be leaders in the recreation field.
Through the full-time nine month program, students gain the working knowledge to provide healthy development programs to youth and become role models in their own communities. Graduates of the program can apply credits to RRC Polytech’s Child and Youth Care Worker Diploma Program.
During the celebration ceremony, each student will present heart-felt speeches on the impact of the program and be awarded certificates of completion.
