On Tuesday, May 12, 2026, BGC Winnipeg and RRC Polytech will proudly celebrate the graduation of 13 inner-city youth from the Youth Recreation Activity Worker Program – a momentous occasion recognizing their dedication to creating positive change in their lives and within their communities.
The Youth Recreation Activity Worker (YRAW) Program is a partnership between BGC Winnipeg and RRC Polytech, created to support young adults who face difficulties following post-secondary education. This program enables young adults gain practical experience while developing the skills and knowledge required to take on leadership roles in the recreational field as well as encouraging the healthy growth and development of children and youth.
Graduates leave with opportunities for further post-secondary education and career growth with the credits earned that can be applied toward RRC Polytech’s Child and Youth Care Woker Diploma Program. The contributions of the YRAW graduates will continue to enrich recreation programs and create positive spaces for youth across the community and strengthen the workforce with their dedication and strong work ethic.
The graduation ceremony will feature personal speeches from each graduate and heartfelt reflections on their journey and the impact of the program. Each student will be awarded a Certificate of Completion in front of their families, mentors, and supporters.
This event celebrates the resilience, commitment, and potential of young people who are determined to make a difference.
