Youth Work Experience
Clean Machine is a summer employment program for young people between the ages of 12-19. Youth in the program perform important work in the community while gaining experience for future employment. This program is funded by the City of Winnipeg.
The Clean Machine - Streets program provides youth ages 12-16 with a structured first-time employment experience. BGC Winnipeg provide uniforms, equipment, and adult supervision for the youth to collect litter on the streets of Winnipeg. Length of employment runs from two to four weeks, although casual employment on short term contracts is also available. Crew workers are paid minimum wage.
The Clean Machine - Waterways program hires youth ages 16-19 to clean and remove debris from Winnipeg waterways including the Seine River and Omand’s Creek. Length of employment is usually four consecutive weekends or four weeks, although casual employment on short term contracts is also available. Crew workers are paid minimum wage.
